You’ve just arrived home after a bad day. Scratch that. You’ve just arrived home after a bad month. You’re broke. You’re lonely, even though you live in the biggest city in America. Generally speaking, you’re in a funk. You do, however, have one cause for mild optimism. You seem to have captured the attention of an intriguing young lady. You’ve rushed home this particular evening to clean your apartment before she comes over. In your haste, you see that you’ve missed a call. There’s a voicemail. She tells you that she won’t be seeing you tonight. ‘An Oversimplification of Her Beauty’ drops you into the shoes of an eccentric young artist, as thoughts, emotions, and memories race through his mind during this singular moment in time.

The picnic is an amazing all day music festival in Philly curated by the most accomplished hip hop band in music history, The Roots. We created a 5 episode web series that had a mix of liver performances and interviews. We were privileged enough to work with Amanda Diva (VH1, MTV) as onscreen talent. Check out okayplayer.com to watch all the episodes. 2007′s picnic featured Grammy award winner Esperanza Spalding, Deefhoof, Gnarls Barkley, Diplo, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and of course the roots themselves

The films are live re-interpretations of songs from Blitz the Ambassadors debut album Stereotype. For Stereolive Blitz brought a twelve piece chamber band to the legendary Royal Blue studios in Bed Stuy Brooklyn to record with the legendary Robert Honablue (Miles Davis, George Benson). The result was a 5 song ep and 5 music videos which capture the recording of each song. Along with the Embassy Ensemble, Blitz invited several guests to collaborate on these unique versions of his songs: John Forté, Kate Mattison, Baja, Bala Tounkara, and Tess all lent their considerable talents to the project.
